The Siemens 6RA8078-6DV62-0AA0 is a SINAMICS DCM four-quadrant DC converter for DC drives, rated for 420V DC output at up to 280A from a (B6)A(B6)C anti-parallel thyristor bridge pair. It is supplied from a 400V 3AC line drawing up to 232A and includes field rectifier D420/280 (MREQ-GEGF6V62) for separate field excitation of the DC motor.

That makes the 6RA8078-6DV62-0AA0 the right choice at 280A output where the load needs regenerative braking or frequent reversal, such as hoists, winders, or reversing mill stands, rather than the two-quadrant variant at the same current rating, which cannot return energy to the line.
