The Siemens 6GK5004-2BF00-1AB2 SCALANCE XB004-2LD is an unmanaged Industrial Ethernet switch with four 10/100 Mbit/s RJ45 ports and two 100 Mbit/s single-mode long-distance fiber ports on SC sockets, accepting 24 V AC or DC supply. It targets small star and line topologies where the fiber run is too long for multimode optics.

Choose the 2LD single-mode variant over the standard XB004-2 when the fiber link runs beyond multimode reach — single-mode LD optics carry the signal much farther between buildings or across a large plant. The dual-voltage 24 V AC/DC input is the other practical difference from the 2BD00 model, useful where the panel only has an AC control supply available. As an unmanaged switch it has no diagnostics or redundancy protocol; step up to a managed SCALANCE if ring redundancy or PROFINET IO diagnosis is needed on this segment.
