This is the only relay-output module in the ET200iSP DQ lineup covered here, and its Ex eb ib mb protection combines increased safety (eb) with intrinsic safety (ib) and encapsulation (mb) rather than the ib-only rating on the transistor 4DQ modules - pick it when the field contact itself, not just the wiring, has to be Ex-rated. Because wire-break and short-circuit cannot be determined in the relay contact circuit, plan external monitoring if that diagnostic coverage is required. Reparameterization in RUN lets switching thresholds be adjusted without a CPU stop.
