The eight 2.5A outputs suit machines with many low-current 24V DC branches - I/O racks, sensor groups, valve banks - where each circuit draws under 2.5A; the higher-current CNX8600 variants in the family cover fewer, higher-current branches instead. Because each output has its own short-circuit cut-off, adjustable overload threshold, and status LED, a fault on one branch trips only that output's protection and relay signal rather than the whole PSU8600 zone. The Ethernet/PROFINET interface through the PSU8600 lets the 0.5-2.5A response current on each channel be set remotely instead of only through the on-board potentiometer, which matters when channel loads change after commissioning.
