- Description
The Schneider Electric GV2LE20 is a TeSys Deca GV2 manual motor circuit breaker with a fixed magnetic trip unit set for an 18 A line current and a 341 A magnetic tripping point. Rated for 690 V AC, it delivers a 15 kA breaking capacity at 400/415 V (dropping to 3 kA at 690 V) and protects motor branches up to 7.5 kW at 400/415 V without a built-in thermal overload function.

Selection Notes
As a magnetic-only trip unit, the GV2LE20 protects against short circuits and locked-rotor surges but has no thermal overload element, so it needs a separate overload relay or a self-protected motor for continuous overload coverage. Its breaking capacity is voltage-dependent: 15 kA at 400/415 V but only 3 kA at 690 V, so on 690 V systems it should sit behind upstream fault-current limiting rather than as the sole interrupting device. At 18 A it covers motors up to 7.5 kW at 400/415 V; heavier loads call for a higher current variant in the same GV2LE range.
Applications
Used as a motor branch disconnector and short-circuit protector ahead of a contactor in TeSys motor starter combinations for pumps, fans and small conveyor drives on 35 mm DIN rail.
